At Optimum Health we do not diagnose or treat disease.  Instead we try to get to the root of the problem and eliminate a whole host of problems all at once.  In most of the cases of our new clients with trouble sleeping,  we notice that they have severe calcium deficiency symptoms.  A few of which are:

  • Leg and foot cramps.
  • Menstrual cramps.
  • Stiff, tight shoulders.
  • Sleeping lightly.
  • Insomnia.
  • Receding gum line.
  • Osteoporosis.

Green leafy vegetables, nuts and seaweeds are excellent sources of calcium.  For a minor deficiency, wholesome foods are usually all that is needed.  When a dietary changes are not feasible then a good calcium supplement can be very helpful. 

However, for a deficiency to become severe enough to cause regular problems with sleeping, the bones have usually become involved.  Therefore, large amounts of calcium may be needed.  Keep in mind that calcium is a mineral that requires many other minerals in order to be processed properly in the body.  Therefore, we prefer to add a good mineral supplement also.

In today's world, a good nights sleep is needed to awaken feeling fresh and ready to face each day packed full of responsibilities, recreation...life.  Eliminating a calcium deficiency as the source of your sleeping problems is an important piece of the puzzle.
